So much has been happening in the garden since last we blogged. Plenty of harvesting has been going on for the chef days, where young gardeners at the school get to taste the fruits of their labors!
With not much left in the garden, we are going to be able to get one last harvest out of the plants still in the ground.
What we did today:
Today, Farmers Barbara, Tiffany, Kaleb, and Molly pulled lots of dying plants and hung them to let them dry so we can get those valuable seeds out of them later. Tiffany also hung up some delicious-looking garlic (pictured above) for the next feast. We harvested some peas, radishes, peppers, and beans, and planted all kinds of tomato plants, which will be beautiful to harvest and eat this summer.
What you can do:
Clean up the areas around the beds that are looking a little messy these days, and think about coming in to harvest some veggies over the summer if you live nearby.
Next time:
More planting and maybe harvesting for the last time while school's in session.
