In the garden this week everything is in full bloom. The peaches are ripening on the trees, and we'll have one more harvest for a farmers' market and another chef day. We tried to find some radishes for the chef, but they may have mostly been harvested. Fortunately, there's a ton of other plants that should be ready in time. Some full-sun seedlings got in the ground this week: eggplant and all kinds of peppers (sweet, hot, green, and red).
What we did:
Pulled overripe Franken-chard in kindergarten garden
Planted tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, and much, much more
Learned about observation in the garden (watch what's happening, see what's changed, adjust)
What you can do:
Observe what will be ripe in time for the chef and market
Pick an orange peach and see if it's ripe
Keep an eye on the fairy garden
Let us know when composting is up and running again
Next time:
Another harvest and more planting of summer plants like corn
Happy gardening!
